With seemingly all the eighties and nineties horror properties revived, rebooted, or otherwise now defunct, Constantin Film is reportedly planning a remake of the 2003 cannibal horror tale Wrong Turn, with 20th Century Fox set to distribute.
The original film starred Buffy the Vampire Slayer’s Eliza Dushku, Jeremy Sisto, and Emmanuelle Chriqui as part fo a group of road tripping teens who find themselves having accidentally travelled into the hunting ground of a family of West Virginia cannibals. It would go on to spawn five direct-to-DVD sequels and prequels, the most recent of which starred controversial British reality TV figure Roxanne Pallett.
The new take is said to follow a cross-country hiking expedition that sees a group of friends unknowingly traverse the land of “an inclusive society”. The twist in this iteration is that the friends discover they’re not quite the victims they thought they were, instead being subject to a different rule of law.
The Domestics director Mike P. Nelson will helm the remake, for which creator Alan McElroy has penned the script.
