Wonder Woman Director Teases AHS Creator Ryan Murphy Over ‘1984’ Title
American Horror Story season nine unveiled its subtitle over the weekend, ‘1984‘, and Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins couldn’t resist a cheeky dig at the series’ creator over the title.
Jenkins, who is presently editing the forthcoming sequel Wonder Woman 1984, tweeted AHS creator Ryan Murphy to congratulate him on the title, whilst linking in Gal Gadot’s original WW84 announcement tweet from June 2018:

Murphy didn’t stay quiet, however, ribbing Jenkins back with a reference to author George Orwell’s seminal novel:

American Horror Story: 1984 will begin airing this Autumn, and will see the return of Scream Queens actress Emma Roberts. Meanwhile, Wonder Woman 1984 is eyeing a June 2020 release, and will star Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Kristen Wiig, and Pedro Pascal.
