Winners: 2016 Sierra Award Winners

Published

on

The Las Vegas Film Critics Society have announced their annual Sierra Award winners, and La La Land have earned another feather in their cap.

The Oscar race is now much more defined, with Best Picture a closely fought contest between Damien Chazelle’s musical and Barry Jenkins’ Moonlight. Mahershala Ali has been leading the film’s charge, dominating the supporting actor trophies this year, though lost out here to Michael Shannon’s powerful turn in Nocturnal Animals.

In total, La La Land scooped 7 awards while Moonlight and Manchester by the Sea won just 2 a piece. Kubo and the Two Strings won Animated Feature, making it the most notable outside bet for the Oscars.
