Visceral Debut Trailer For Pilgrimage
Spider-Man. The Punisher. Thorin.
Within the opening frames of this first-look at the Brendan Muldowney effort, you could be forgiven that Tom Holland’s (The Impossible) Brother Diarmuid/The Novice is paying homage to the characters of Middle-Earth. Yet Pilgrimage promises to be a far more hard-hitting and blood-splattered affair.
Holland stars alongside Richard Armitage’s (The Hobbit: Battle Of The Five Armies) Raymond De Merville and the enigma that is Jon Bernthal’s The Mute (up next in Edgar Wright’s Baby Driver), grounding its action in 13th Century Ireland as the escorting of a legendary relic is littered with dangerous obstacles.
Brimming with impressive period detail, the film may just serve to be a neat dramatic shift for Holland whilst playing to the strengths of Armitage and Bernthal’s well-worn tough man acts.
The film will be making its bow at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival, with a US release date confirmed for 11th August 2017. We await official details on a UK release.
