Interviews
Up Close with Naomi Rose Pfyl
Movie Marker Magazine got up close with actor, Naomi Rose Pfyl to chat about some of her favorite acting moments and more!
You’ve been acting a while, do you have a favorite type of character to portray?
I don’t specifically have a favorite type, but one-character traits that I enjoy within a role is that of fighting for something the character cares about and how they stand up for it. The roles which are driven by passion. That’s where I found myself to have the most strength and enjoyment too. So, the type of character isn’t so important as their passions.
What were some of the highs and lows you have experienced on set?
Highs are the fun times and when everything goes to plan and often the great conversations you find yourself in with your co-stars, building those lasting friendships. The lows are often the time pressure, and it is a shame when certain scenes or ideas need to be cut out because of time limitations on set or for that day of filming.
As an actor, what other movies have you enjoyed being part of, and the characters you play?
One of my favorite characters to play has been in the project, “When Autumn Comes” which is still in the editing process. First of all, we filmed this movie in London, which is one of my absolute favorite cities and then to add an extra bonus, we were a crew of nearly half Philippines. I portrayed “new” Anna, but I can’t tell you too much about it.
What type of genre of film or TV show are you drawn to traditionally?
I love dramedy, that is real life. You cry, you laugh, you keep going.
Do you have a bucket list of actors and directors you would like to work with?
Oh yes so so many! I find myself driving through Los Angeles and see a billboard and I think to myself, this is the actor or actress I would like to work with one day. Today I manifested that I will work with Viola Davis one day, and I hope I do.
When you are not acting, what do you enjoy doing?
I enjoy exploring Los Angeles, to Google new places, finding new spots either for hiking, taking a walk or just to see and discover. Otherwise, I like working out, kickboxing is a sport I found which I absolutely enjoy and listening to audio books.
What can we expect to see you doing over the next few months?
This weekend I am working on a music video shoot, which I am very excited about. I am so fortunate to have many projects in the pipeline, which I can’t speak about at the moment.
How can people find and follow your journey?
