The One Sheet For Paddington Bear Debuts!
Rather fittingly stranded at his namesake station in between two sun kissed trains , the first poster for the big screen version of kid’s favourite ‘Paddington Bear’ has been unveiled today.
For those unfamiliar with the duffle coat wearing immigrant bear from Peru, the character first burst onto the screen in the year of 1958 and has become a consistent fixture of children’s literature thanks to the likes of Michael Bond. In addition, its success soon translated into an animated series on the BBC during the 1970’s.
This particular version, is set to boast an impressive albeit familiar mix of CGI and live action, with the film likely to be released in the year 2014.
Warner Bros’ producer David Heyman (the man behind the Harry Potter franchise) is the key benefactor behind the project, with the leftfield choice of The Mighty Boosh’s Paul King installed in the director’s chair.
Heyman has clearly stated his love of the material, declaring the books of Michael Bond ‘offer such wit and wonder’ and is ‘so delighted at this chance to bring Paddington to the big screen’.
