The Grey’s Joe Carnahan To Adapt Undying Love!
Director Joe Carnahan has been consistently attached to the world of comicbooks/graphic novels recently. Of course, he was originally in the running to handle the reboot of Daredevil for Fox until it was unfortunately put on the backburner. Luckily for Carnahan, Warner Bros’ have supplied with their own graphic novel ripe for a big screen adaptation.
It has been confirmed that the A Team and The Grey helmer will be behind the camera for ‘Undying Love’, a vampire romance novel written by the duo Tomm Coker and Daniel Freedman.
Likely to fill the void left by the likes of Twilght albeit with an edgier approach, Undying Love allows Hong Kong to be the backdrop for a blossoming romance between a former soldier John Sargent (not based on the former TV broadcaster!) and female vampire Mei. With an underworld of sharp fanged adversaries opposing her ‘antics’, it’s down to Sargent to ‘bring the pain’.
Carnahan has already acknowledged (Via Deadline) it’s a project ‘a little out of his wheelhouse, taking place in China with mysticism and swordplay, but there is alot of potential here.’
