Sinister’s Derrickson To Tackle Work Of Stephen King!
In recent years, Halloween has been dominated by the Paranormal Activity franchise. With quality alternatives a rare commodity, it’s refreshing to find Scott Derrickson’s Sinister starring Ethan Hawke to be exactly that despite its familiar trappings. With positive word continuing to spread, the director has wasted little time in confirming the next project in his pipeline.
Cinema has been renowned for adapting the works of iconic novellist Stephen King. The Shining and The Shawshank Redemption notable entries. Now, it will be the turn of ‘The Breathing Method’ to be given the big screen treatment as Derrickson stays loyal to the genre. On producer duties will be Jason Blum’s Blumhouse, who has significant ties to ‘Activity’.
The story of ‘Method’ revolves around a generously aged physician by the name of Dr Emlym Mccarron. With the political and social undertones of the 1930’s conflicting with a woman’s fight to give birth to her illegitimate child, she embraces the works of Emlyn entitled The Breathing Method. A technique to provide much appreciated help to women through the strenuous act of childbirth, but as you’d expect with the works of King.. there’s more than meets the eye.
With King’s Different Seasons collection providing much success in the past, let’s hope Derrickson can repeat such a feat!
