One of this past Summer’s biggest hits with a $500 million+ taking worldwide, Seth Mcfarlane’s directorial debut complete with a vulgar teddy bear called ‘Ted’ and one Mark Wahlberg went down a storm with critics and audiences alike. Now propelled into the mainstream of Hollywood solidifed by the confirmation he will host the Oscars in February, Mcfarlane has revealed details of a potential new project.

He is lining himself up to direct and feature in a film called ‘A Million Ways To Die In The West’. The film is being compared tonally to the likes of ‘Blazing Saddles’, as the ‘Family Guy’ funnyman ventures into the world of the Western for the first time. ‘A Million Ways’ is currently being scripted by Mcfarlane himself along with his ‘Ted’ scribes Alec Sulkin and Wellesley Wild.

Taking into account the project is still in it’s early stages, The Hollywood Reporter claims that deals with production companys aren’t ‘done’, but Media Rights Capital who backed his debut are throwing it’s backing behind the film.

With a cinematic outing for his TV juggernaut in the works along with a ‘Ted’ sequel, it’s certainly a good time to be Seth Mcfarlane. ‘A Million Ways To Die In The West’ is scheduled to arrive next Summer.
