Screen Actors Guild Winners
The Screen Actors Guild finally announced their winners of their annual awards, and there are no surprises. These are hugely indicative of the Oscars, but the nominations are quite different. Matthew McConaughey scooped Best Actor but neither Tom Hanks nor Forest Whitaker are nominated at the Oscars, so how he will fare against Leonardo DiCaprio, who is benefiting from a global social media appeal to the voters, is yet to be seen.
Lupita Nyong’o won Supporting Actress, which may surprise some, but her performance in 12 Years a Slave is far better than Jennifer Lawrence in American Hustle so the win is very well deserved.
