Robert Pattinson To Star In Robert Eggers’ ‘The Lighthouse’

A slow-burning and chilling narrative confined to its immersive New England trappings, all anchored by leading lady Anya Taylor-Joy. We were big fans by Robert Eggers’ directorial debut ‘The Witch’ in 2016.

It looks like distributor A24 were mightily impressed by his work too, as they are set to reunite with him on another horror offering called ‘The Lighthouse’.

Eggers has already acquired the talents of Willem Dafoe for the project, who is nominated in the Best Supporting Actor category at this year’s Oscars, for his performance in Sean Baker’s The Florida Project.

Joining Dafoe will be Robert Pattinson, who had a stellar 2017 with his critically acclaimed turns in James Gray’s ‘The Lost City Of Z’ and The Safdie Brothers’ ‘Good Time’.

His latest film ‘Damsel’ which also stars Stoker’s Mia Wasikowska will be screened at this year’s Berlin International Film Festival.

‘The Lighthouse‘ has been described as a ‘fantasy horror story set in the world of old sea-faring myths’, with A24 clearly excited by the project.

They said in a statement:

‘This new script blew us away – it creates a totally unique and ambitious universe and manages to somehow feel scary, suspenseful, wondrous, and beautiful all at the same time’.

High praise indeed. We’ll be keeping a keen eye on this one…
