paul-walker-picture-5Paul Walker, 40, died on Saturday 30 November when a Porsche driven by his friend, Roger Rodas, crashed into a lamp post in Los Angeles. Rodas also died in the tragic accident.

Walker was best-known for playing Brian O’Conner in the Fast & Furious films in which he starred in five of the six movies with the seventh in the process of filming.

The accident happened while Walker was attending an event for his charity Reach Out Worldwide.  The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s department said that deputies found a car engulfed in flames when they responded to a report of a collision. Two people found inside the car were pronounced dead at the scene.

Images have circulated showing the burnt-out wreckage of the red Porsche by the side of the road.

His Fast and Furious co-star, Vin Diesel, wrote that “heaven has gained a new angel”. He also tweeted, “Brother, I will miss you very much.”

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson wrote: “We find our strength in his light. Love you brother.”

Universal Pictures issued a statement saying Walker was “truly one of the most beloved and respected members of our studio family for 14 years.”

The seventh installment of Fast and Furious began filming in September but has not been completed. It has still been given the go ahead for next summer.

Before his death, Walker had finished two movies – a Hurricane Katrina drama, Hours, and Brick Mansions.
