Paramount Pick Feast Director Patrick Osbourne For Monument Valley Mobile Game Film
Paramount Pictures, in conjunction with Akiva Goldsman’s Weed Road Pictures, have hired director Patrick Osbourne to helm a CG / live-action hybrid family fantasy flick based on popular mobile puzzle game Monument Valley according to Deadline.
Ustwo Games’ puzzle-platformer sees you guide a silent princess through a beautiful world of impossible, Escher-esque architecture on a quest for forgiveness. The film will reportedly send a small collection of contemporary characters into the surreal landscape of Monument Valley, and challenge them to see things differently. The game has over 160 million downloads worldwide, and won a slew of awards upon its release.
Osbourne is best known for directing Pixar’s gorgeous short film Feast, which played before Big Hero 6 in cinemas. He is currently directing comic adaptation Nimona for Fox.
Monument Valley is now on the hunt for a screenwriter, and is currently lacking a release date.
