Nominees: 2017 NAACP Image Awards

The NAACP champion the advancement of coloured people in America and around the world. Their annual Image Awards, therefore, have a natural skew in favour of films made by and starring people of colour.

So it’s no surprise that MoonlightLoving and Fences feature heavily among the nominees, while films such as La La Land and Manchester by the Sea – though strong Oscar contenders – do not feature.
