Nominees: 2017 Gotham Awards
Get Out is doing nothing to damage its chances this awards season, as it leads this year’s Gotham Awards with four nominations including Best Feature.
The independent production has been touted as a possible outside contender for the Academy Awards in March, despite its early year release which typically puts it out of serious contention. A strong showing at Gotham will continue to fuel the fire – a couple of wins even more so.
However it faces some strong competition from Call Me By Your Name – the much lauded romantic drama which has positioned itself as one of the mainstream indie candidates this season. The film has three nominations alongside Columbus, Lady Bird and The Florida Project.
