Mamma Mia Sequel Set For 2018
Armed with the treasured music of ABBA. Based on the successful Broadway and West End musical.
Whether you loved or loathed it. There is simply no denying the phenomenal success that greeted the film version of Mamma Mia back in the summer of 2008.
Claiming £69 million in the process. It once held the title of being the highest grossing film at the UK Box Office, as the star power of Meryl Streep, Julie Walters and Pierce Brosnan to name a few coupled with its timeless soundtrack, proved impossible to resist.
Now, nearly a decade on, Universal Pictures have announced that an unlikely sequel is on the way next year titled ‘Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again’.
Proving that they really are Super Troupers, many of the original cast members are set to return, including Streep (Florence Foster Jenkins) and Brosnan (Love Is All You Need) as well as fellow co-stars Amanda Seyfried (Les Miserables) and Colin Firth (Kingsman: The Golden Circle later this year).
The sequel will be directed by Ol Parker, who wrote the screenplays for The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel and its 2015 follow-up.
