Lily James Headlines First ‘The Guernsey Literary And Potato Peel Pie Society’ Trailer
‘The Guernsey Literary And Potato Peel Pie Society. Well that’s a mouthful!’ No kidding Matthew Goode.
Yet boasting a wealth of homegrown talent including Lily James, who is having a busy 2018 with Darkest Hour and Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again, alongside Tom Courtenay (45 Years), Penelope Wilton (The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel) and Jessica Brown Findlay (Downton Abbey).
We suspect we’re going to be repeating this title quite a lot in the coming months, considering the quality of this well-observed debut trailer.
Directed by Four Weddings And A Funeral’s Mike Newell and based on the best-selling novel written by Annie Barrows, the film revolves around writer Juliet Ashton (James) forming a close bond with fellow members of the society, who formed during the German occupation in World War II.
The film is released in the UK on 20th April 2018.
