Herzog Set To Adapt Vernon God Little
It’s been all quiet on the cinematic front for unorthodox director Werner Herzog. Immersing himself in initimate docu style projects instead and later on this year STARRING alongside Tom Cruise for Jack Reacher, many have wondered when he will dip his toes back into big screen fare.
For admirers of his work, it seems your prayers have been answered. Today it was confirmed that Herzog has sealed the deal to direct Vernon God Little.
A film adaptation of a Booker Prize winning novel back in 2003 and written by D.B.C Pierre, the premise revolves one Vernon Little. A 15 year old suspected to be an accomplice in a high school wipeout of the pupils, the authorities and the media soon swarm every inch of his personal space in order for justice.
The script is being handled by Andrew Birkin (Perfume: The Story Of A Murderer/The Name Of The Rose), but with Herzog’s attention immediately turning to the production of Queen Of The Desert (Robert Pattinson the leading man).. don’t expect Vernon God Little to hit multiplexes anytime soon!
