Golden Globes 2013 Round-Up!
We were almost defeated by the lack of televised coverage, but Movie Marker bared witness to the 70th Golden Globes. Widely deemed the ‘Official’ KO to the glitz and glory of awards season, the hosting mantle was passed on from Ricky Gervais to the witty ‘dynamic’ duo of Tina Fey and Amy Poehler who didn’t disappoint in the ‘controversy’ stakes. Just a few snapshots aimed at Anne Hathaway and Taylor Swift here..
‘I haven’t seen you so totally alone and abandoned since you were on stage with James Franco at the Oscars!’
‘You know what Taylor Swift.. Keep away from Michael J.Fox’s son. Or not.. GO FOR IT!’
We had the ‘irony’ of the verbally ‘challenged’ duo Arnold Schwarzeneger and Sylvester Stallone announcing the nominees for ‘Best Foreign Film’. Kristen Wiig and Will Ferrell ramping up the ‘need’ to see them link up for Anchorman 2 as reported with a rip-roaring display and Aziz Ansari apparently saw Daniel Day Lewis in Expendables 2. Who knew!?
All jokes aside, it was all about setting the pace for the prestigious Academy Awards in February and the Globes threw a bagful of swerves, blowing this year’s race wide open. Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln widely regarded as THE one to beat, failed to set the night alight bar the inevitable DDL Best Actor win whilst the likes of Django and Argo tore up the formbook in stunning fashion.
