It has undoubtedly been a rocky road for remaining members Brian May and Roger Taylor, to get a biopic about the legendary rock band Queen and its beloved front man made.

Stuck in development hell for a number of years. Actors Sacha Baron Cohen (Borat) and Ben Whishaw (Spectre) along with Eddie The Eagle director Dexter Fletcher had previously bailed on the project due to creative differences. Now the project has finally found solace, through Bryan Singer who will helm the film with Rami Malek in the lead role.

Initially revealed by Entertainment Weekly to tie in with what would have been the singer’s 71st birthday, we have been treated to our first look of Malek as Freddie Mercury in ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’, which is scheduled for release in December 2018.

Malek will star alongside Ben Hardy (X-Men: Apocalypse), Gwilym Lee (Jamestown) and Joseph Mazzello (The Social Network).
