DuVernay Tackling A Wrinkle In Time For Disney
Creating concepts for TV shows with the incomparable Oprah Winfrey (Queen Sugar). Looking for Intelligent Life with 12 Years A Slave actress Lupita Nyong’O, which is set for release next year.
Already making a sizable mark with the critically-acclaimed civil rights drama Selma starring David Oyelowo, in-demand director Ava DuVernay is seemingly ready to tackle another high-profile project for Disney.
Deadline initially breaking the news, she is set to spearhead a big-screen adaptation of Madeleine L.Eagle’s 1963 sci-fi novel A Wrinkle In Time, which revolves around the character of Charles Wallace Murry as he adjusts to a planet where all lifeforms are enslaved by a pulsating brain.
The script is to be provided by Jennifer Lee, who proved to be a key figure behind the success of 2013 animated smash Frozen, starring Idina Menzel and Jonathan Groff.
