Denis Villeneuve’s Dune Trailer Finally Drops
Frank Herbert’s Dune is a world that many book lovers have delved into over the years. Ever since the first cinematic attempt of Dune back in 1984, many critics have deemed it un-filmable. Enter Denis Villeneuve over 30 years later. The director of Prisoners, Arrival and Blade Runner 2049 has had a string of critical/crowd-pleasing hits. Once discussions of a Dune remake were on the cards, many pundits deemed Villeneuve as the natural choice.
Denis Villeneuve has conjured a stellar cast including Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, Stellan Skarsgård, Dave Bautista, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Zendaya, Sharon Duncan-Brewster, Chang Chen, Charlotte Rampling with Jason Momoa and Javier Bardem. Check out the new trailer below.
Dune tells the story of Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet), a brilliant and gifted young man born into a great destiny beyond his understanding, who must travel to the most dangerous planet in the universe to ensure the future of his family and his people. As malevolent forces explode into conflict over the planet’s exclusive supply of the most precious resource in existence—a commodity capable of unlocking humanity’s greatest potential—only those who can conquer their fear will survive.
Dune is slated for a December 18, 2020, worldwide release from Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary
