Cannes Film Festival 2021 line up announced
The hiatus is over, and Cannes will be returning all guns blazing this July. Thierry Frémaux revealed a gargantuan roster of Cannes alumni and some new faces in the main competition.
In recent weeks Cannes announced that Leos Carax’s Annette would be opening the festival and Paul Verhoeven’s Benedetta and Wes Anderson’s The French Dispatch joining the competition for the Palme d’Or. All three films were scheduled to feature last year and are a few of the most anticipated to feature on the Croisette this year. They will be joined by the likes of Jacques Audiard, Mia Hansen-Løve, Sean Baker, Apichatpong Weerasethakul and Julia Ducornau.
