Alicia Vikander Is Lara Croft In Debut ‘Tomb Raider’ Trailer
‘The fate of humanity rests in her hands.’
Well. According to Dominic West’s Lord Richard Croft anyway. A kick-ass heroine that originally won the hearts of many Playstation fans, making her big-screen debut through Angelina Jolie back in 2001, earning a sequel in 2003 with ‘The Cradle Of Life’.
Lara Croft is back in the first official trailer for ‘Tomb Raider’, as Warner Bros turn to The Danish Girl actress Alicia Vikander to revitalise the series.
Certainly looking the part (reassuring after the film’s dodgy poster) as she wields guns and makes great use of that trustee climbing axe. We see Lara navigate through a dangerous tomb named the ‘Mother Of Death’, encountering Walton Goggins’ big bad Mathias Vogel along the way.
Also starring Kristin Scott Thomas, Nick Frost and Daniel Wu, we can only hope this is a considerable improvement on the recent barrage of mediocre films based on video games.
Tomb Raider is released on 16th March 2018.
