Academy Credit Leo as Wolf Producer
The Academy have at last determined the producers credits for The Wolf of Wall Street – Martin Scorsese, Joey McFarland, Emma Tillinger Koskoff and everyone’s favorite Oscar hopeful Leonardo DiCaprio.
This is DiCaprio’s fifth Oscar nomination, and with 12 Years a Slave and American Hustle competing for Best Picture it will likely be his fifth unsuccessful nomination. He is also nominated for Leading Actor. This is Martin Scorsese’s 10th nomination in total, winning only one for directing The Departed, also starring DiCaprio.
As a relatively new producer, this is Joey Mcfarland’s first nomination, but with only five credited titles to his name on IMDB that’s an impressive conversion rate. Emma Tillinger Koskoff has worked with Scorsese regularly since The Departed, though this is also her first nomination.
When films are submitted for Oscar consideration, the Academy reviews the names submitted and reserve the final decision with regards to who is officially nominated. This is based on a checklist of criteria which the credited producers must satisfy. All disputes or discrepancies are settled by the Board of Governors.
