Academy Announce 86th Oscars Timeline

The Academy recently announced the timeline for the 86th Oscars, to be held Sunday March 2nd 2014. This gives you a rough idea of when attention will turn towards the Oscars. One important thing to note is the later ceremony date, giving studios an extra week between nominations and awards. Will this make a difference to the campaigns? Possibly not, but films that ride a wave of temporary enthusiasm cough Avatar cough may well be released a week later than normal to accommodate for the slightly prolonged lobbying period.
