9 Foreign Language Films Make Shortlist
In the most surprising shortlist announcement so far, the Academy has revealed the 9 foreign language entries eligible for nomination, with both Iran’s The Past and Saudi Arabia’s Wadjda omitted from the list. This has sent shock waves through the film nerd community, with many assuming these two were a lock in for nominations, and consequently throwing all predictions for this category well up in the air.
The most stylish looking film is Wong Kar-wai’s The Grandmaster, but it really is impossible to call at the moment. Who do you think will make the cut, and why do you think The Past and Wadjda missed out?
