5 Of Our Favourite Film-Inspired Pop! Vinyl Figures
We’re all familiar with the phenomenon that is Funko Pop! vinyl figures. Pops have become extremely popular amongst collectors and gift-givers.
As a result the range of figures available covers almost everyone’s favourite films, television shows, games and musicians. The inspiration for the Pop! figures can even come from Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh! and mtg cards.
So Movie Marker decided to take a look at 5 of our favourite film-inspired Pop! vinyl figures.
Agent J and Frank (Men in Black)

Men in Black was one of the biggest hits of the 90’s and with a couple of sequels/re imaginings since, it’s a franchise that still lives on.
One of the coolest things about the figures is the little added extras some of them come with. We especially love this Agent J and Frank duo. Who doesn’t want a little Frank Pop smoking a cigar? This one also has the nice detail of the sunglasses on J.
Godzilla

Something slightly different from the usual Pop format is this terrifying Godzilla figure.
Godzilla, King of the Monsters, has been in popular culture since the 1950’s, with multiple appearances and reincarnations spanning more than 35 films. A popular Japanese mainstay, Spielberg even cited Godzilla as inspiration for Jurassic Park
Toddler Groot (Guardians of the Galaxy)

From the monstrous to the mini…
Since his first appearance in Guardians of the Galaxy, Groot has become one of the most loved characters in the Marvel cinematic universe. Providing audiences with some heartfelt moments, despite being limited to those famous three words ‘I Am Groot’.
This Toddler Groot figure is just adorable and would make a great addition to the different versions of Groot already out there!
John McClane (Die Hard)

One of the most recognisable action characters of the past 40 years is John McClane, Bruce Willis’ vest-wearing, yippee-ki-yayying cop who often found himself in the wrong place and the wrong time.
The Pop figure is a great tribute to that character, capturing one of the first films iconic moments with John on the radio to Hans.
James Bond and his Aston Martin

Our final pick is this fantastic tribute to Sean Connery’s iteration of 007 and his famous Aston Martin.
This figure is a really nice example of the more playful aspect of the Pop variants with Bond popping his head out of the car.
James Bond has become an absolute icon of film with almost 30 versions of the British secret agent gracing our screens over the past 60 years. There will likely need to be a new figure sometime soon, with Daniel Craig set to vacate the role after 5 films.
