20 Feet From Stardom Credits Confirmed
The Academy have now confirmed the credited nominees for documentary feature 20 Feet From Stardom – Morgan Neville, Gil Friesen and Caitrin Rogers.
20 Feet From Stardom is a documentary about backup singers, their understated importance and their struggle to move into the spotlight. The film talks to some of the biggest names in music from Jon Bon Jovi to Stevie Wonder, looking at success stories and failures. The film is getting rave reviews and could sneak up on people at the Oscars, though it isn’t really being seen as a favorite.
Morgan Neville is a prolific documentary producer with over 25 credits to his name, though this is his first Oscar nomination. Gil Friesen has spent her career mainly in coming-of-age comedies, Exec Producing such films as The Breakfast Club. Caitrin Rogers is the newbie of the group, having only started on big films since 2010, but this is the first nomination for all three.
The Academy Awards are held on Sunday March 2nd at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, hosted by Ellen Degeneres and broadcast live around the world.
