Community actress Yvette Nicole Brown has announced that she has joined the cast of Disney’s in-production, live-action Lady and the Tramp remake.

Brown will portray Aunt Sarah, the inciting character of the film’s classic love story, who offers to babysit the new infant-child of Jim Dear (Thomas Mann) and Darling (Kiersey Clemons). Whilst there, her trouble-making Siamese cats trash the house and pin the crime on Lady (Tessa Thompson),the family’s beloved cocker-spaniel. Faced with the punishment of being muzzled, and indignant at her family’s seeming ignorance of her due to their new child, Lady runs away and meets up with a streetwise mongrel named Tramp (Justin Theroux). Romantic spaghetti consumption ensues.

The original Lady and the Tramp is an animated classic, first released in 1955, and beloved by children across the globe. The LEGO Ninjago Movie’s Charlie Bean will direct the remake, which is set to make its debut on Disney’s presently-untitled (but rumoured to be called ‘Disney Play’) dedicated streaming service.
