It isn’t the first time we’ve seen this particular The Fault In Our Stars and John Wick actor in superhero territory, proving a worthy adversary to Tobey Maguire’s Spiderman as the Green Goblin in the original trilogy directed by Sam Raimi.
Now, Willem Dafoe has switched allegiances from Marvel to DC and this time fighting for good instead of wreaking havoc, as he has been confirmed for Warner Bros’ Justice League.
Whilst the details of his role remain shrouded in mystery for now, Dafoe is the latest addition to Zack Snyder’s (Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice currently in cinemas) heavyweight assembling of various DC Comics heroes, after Whiplash star J.K Simmons was recently announced to play Commissioner Gordon.
He will be alongside Ben Affleck’s Batman, Henry Cavill’s Superman, Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa’s Aquaman (his solo outing out in 2018) and Ezra Miller’s The Flash.
The Justice League outing is set to be split into two parts, with Part 1 arriving in cinemas in November 2017, with Part 2 debuting in 2019.
