Viggo Mortensen is preparing to star in, write, produce, and make his directorial debut with the family drama, Falling.

Falling will see Mortensen play a gay man with a partner and adopted daughter who must welcome his more traditionally-minded father into his home when the latter visits in search of a place to retire. Sci-fi icon and veteran actor Lance Henriksen  is on board to play the father.

Sverrir Gudnason (The Girl in the Spider’s Web’s Mikael Blomkvist), meanwhile, will play the role of Mortensen’s partner, while Daniel Bekerman will produce the project.

The news comes as Mortensen is drawing rave reviews for his work opposite Mahershala Ali in the forthcoming Green Book, set to open in the UK on February 1st.
