‘Be careful what you believe in…’

Debuting in April, fittingly on Friday The 13th is ‘Ghost Stories’ directed by The League Of Gentlemen’s Jeremy Dyson and Peaky Blinders’ Andy Nyman, who also stars as a cynical professor investigating the details of three ‘hauntings’.

Already receiving various acclaim when it made its presence felt at last year’s London Film Festival. Alongside Nyman are Martin Freeman (Black Panther), Alex Lawther (The End Of The Fucking World) and Paul Whitehouse (The Death Of Stalin).

You can check out the latest trailer released by Lionsgate below…

‘Phillip Goodman, professor of psychology, arch-skeptic, the one-man ‘belief buster’ – has his rationality tested to the hilt when he receives a letter apparently from beyond the grave. His mentor Charles Cameron, the ‘original’ TV parapsychologist went missing fifteen years before, presumed dead and yet now he writes to Goodman saying that the pair must meet. Cameron, it seems, is still very much alive. And he needs Goodman to find a rational explanation for three stories that have shaken Cameron to his core. As Goodman investigates, he meets three haunted people, each with a tale more frightening, uncanny and inexplicable than the last.’

We’re ensured this is not another elaborate scheme to expand the Cloverfield universe by producer J.J Abrams, after The Cloverfield Paradox was released on Netflix earlier this year without little warning.

But the frentic ‘Overlord’ trailer set to AC/DC’s ‘Hells Bells’ certainly has us intrigued, providing us with an undead take on the horrors of World War II as a team of paratroopers led by Wyatt Russell find themselves behind enemy lines, only to uncover that the Nazis are conducting scientific experiments to create zombie-like super soldiers.

Directed by Son Of A Gun’s Julius Avery. The film is released in the UK on 25th October.
