Nominees: 2016 Gotham Independent Film Awards
The Gotham Awards are considered the start of awards season. After months of festivals and hype, the results are starting to pay off and we get a sense of which films may start to sneak through the pack and lead the Oscar race.
Though bear in mind, the Gotham Awards give only a marginal view, limiting their nominees to more indie fare. It was the perfect platform for Kenneth Lonergan’s Manchester by the Sea to assert itself, and with four nominations including Best Feature it leads the pack.
Moonlight and Loving are among the other nominees – both vying for major nominations from the Academy.
See the full list of nominees below, and head over to the official website for more info.
The 2016 Gotham Independent Film Awards will be held at the Cipriani Wall Street in New York City on 28th November 2016.
