Ant-Man and The Wasp actor Michael Peña has joined Sony’s forthcoming reboot of the classic television series Fantasy Island.
Peña will portray Mr. Roarke, the charismatic host of the island which grants the dreams of its visitors for a price, originated by Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan’s Ricardo Montalban. The original show ran for a staggering 154 episodes, from 1977 to 1984.
Michael Peña has been having a hell of a year, with his aforementioned MCU-flick, Disney’s A Wrinkle in Time, and has lined up to star opposite Clint Eastwood and Bradley Cooper in The Mule, and has joined the fourth season of Netflix’s Narcos as a member of the main cast. He is also currently shooting for the live-action reboot of Dora the Explorer, as Dora’s father.
Director Jeff Ladlow (Truth or Dare) will helm the project, which will begin shooting next year. No release date has been scheduled.
