Mag MWarner Bros. announced yesterday that the hotly anticipated sequel Magic Mike XXL will be released July 3, 2015, The original 2012 film was directed by Steven Soderbergh and starred Channing Tatum, and was loosely based on the actor’s own experiences as a young male dancer.

Tatum is currently writing the sequel, which will be directed by Gregory Jacobs, Soderbergh’s assistant on the first film and collaborator of may of his other works.

There is no confirmation on the return of previous stars, the now Oscar-winning Matthew McConaughey and Alex Pettyfer

Channing has apparently written parts for rumoured stars Zac Efron and Rita Ora and such names will only serve to heighten the anticipation for the sequel to one of the surpise hits of 2012.
