In the age of streaming services such as Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime, finding interesting films to watch is easier than ever. Indeed, Netflix and others are now developing their own programming and one of the latest offerings to catch our eye is the new movie Win it All which is a film based on gambling.
The movie currently has an approval rating of 92% on Rotten Tomatoes and Win it All tells the story of Eddie Garrett who is played by actor Jake Johnson, known for his appearance in New Girl and Garrett is a compulsive gambler who works parking cars at Wrigley Field in Chicago. By night he gambles with his buddy Gene and the pair have never really won it big. However, their fortune takes a turn when Garrett’s friend Michael is incarcerated and asks Garrett to do him a solid and take care of a mystery duffle bag.
Curiosity gets the better of Garrett who looks inside the bag to discover that it is full of cash. While Garrett and Gene are not online gamblers playing on online casino or even good poker players, they end up gambling away the duffle bag full of money only to discover that Michael is being released early and expecting to collect his money. Eddie has to get out of the predicament the only way he knows how – by gambling! It certainly makes for an entertaining film and offers a glimpse into the mind of a person who tries to do the right things but sometimes gets into a bit of a sticky situation.
The result is a small character drama that, through improvisation, renders relationships impeccably and it looks to be one of the better modern gambling films. The film focuses on traditional gambling as opposed to online casinos and really offers an insight into the effe
