A sequel to Kingsman: The Secret Service will start filming in April 2016.
The Hollywood Reporter has announced Kingsman 2’s shooting month in the aftermath of a schedule conflict for Kingsman star Taron Egerton.
Egerton was signed on to shoot Robin Hood: Origins in February, but Kingsman writer-director Matthew Vaughn exercised his option for Egerton’s role in The Secret Service sequel.
Instead of recasting Egerton in Robin Hood, the production will shift with the breakout star when Kingsman 2 finishes shooting, which will likely be in the second half of next year.
Egerton is also reportedly attached to an indie crime drama called Crooks County that is an adaptation of a true story of a whistleblower who’s part of an undercover FBI operation.
Fox has been reportedly working on a Kingsman sequel for a while now, and Vaughn has admitted he’s open to directing the follow-up, which may see thereturn of Colin Firth.
