The stars of Death Note launched the first full trailer for the Netflix Manga adaption. In the film, Nat Wolff plays Light Turner, a student who stumbles across a mystical notebook that has the power to kill any person whose name he writes in it. Turner told the Hall H fans that during his preparation to play the role, “I made my own Death Note. I didn’t think I could come up with names, but names were flying off my pen.”

Lakeith Steinfeld who plays detective L in the film, stayed true to his eccentric character throughout the Death Note panel. One of the few things said by the “Atlanta” star was: “I think, if we examine ourselves somewhat closely, we’ll find that we’re all weird in the best way. That’s what attracted me to L. So I let myself be weird.”

Directed by Adam Wingard, Death Note will be available to stream on Aug. 25.
