Brave Hits The Box Office Bullseye!
Will Pixar’s box office winning streak ever end?
Their latest 3D cinematic slice ‘Brave’ that tells the tale of the fiery haired Merida fighting off a curse, has helped the animation juggernaut to score its 13th top spot debut in a row. Restoring a sense of respectability after the underwhelming reviews bestowed upon Cars 2, the film scored $66.7 million leaving its nearest rivals trailing.
Speaking of rivals, another family friendly film Madagascar 3 held relatively firm adding $20.2 million to its tally despite being knocked off its perch. Not even an exaggerated interpretation of an American president could mount much offense, as Timur Bekmambetov’s (Wanted) Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter had to settle for third place ($16.5 million).
Here’s the full rundown:
1. Brave $66.7 million
2. Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted $20.2 million
3. Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter $16.5 million
4. Prometheus $10 million
